AGF Rebar (Kitchener) has been mandated by the Crosslinx Transit Solution (CTS) consortium to supply, install and inspect reinforcing steel at several stations of the new light-rail transit project in Toronto: The Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

This new public transport will move across 19 km, will have 25 stations running east—west across the city, and will be 60% faster than a streetcar, a bus, or a downtown subway.

AGF Rebar will supply a total of nearly 6,500 MT of reinforcing steel for the Mount Pleasant, Caledonia and Chaplin stations.

Successful audit

Last September, CTS audited the work done by AGF Rebar on this project, more specifically regarding their involvement on Mount Pleasant.station.

It was determined that the Kitchener team had successfully fulfilled its mandate by meeting the quality requirements of the client.

“Based on the information collected (…), the auditors have concluded that AGF Rebar Inc.’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan has been implemented effectively at the fabrication facility. (…) AGF Rebar Inc. has a team of competent and experienced support staff along with the well trained and certified fabrication facility personnel” (Source: CTS Audit Report—September 2018).

Tren ligero en Toronto

El consorcio Crosslinx Transit Solution (CTS) le concedió el mandato a AGF Rebar (Kitchener) para proporcionar, instalar e inspeccionar el acero de refuerzo de varias estaciones del nuevo proyecto del tren ligero en Toronto: El tren ligero de Eglinton Crosstown.

Este nuevo transporte en común recorrerá 19 km, contará con 25 estaciones que atravesarán la ciudad de Este a Oeste y será 60% más rápido que el tranvía, el autobús o el metro.

AGF Rebar ha abastecido en total casi 6500 t de acero de refuerzo para las estaciones de Mount Pleasant, Caledonia y Chaplin.

Auditoría exitosa

El pasado septiembre, CTS realizó una auditoría del trabajo realizado por AGF Rebar en este proyecto.

Los resultados fueron que el equipo de Kitchener cumplió con su proyecto exitosamente, respetando las exigencias de calidad del cliente.

“Con base en las informaciones obtenidas, los auditores concluyeron que el plan de garantía de calidad de AGF Rebar Inc. fue implantado de una manera eficaz en las instalaciones de fabricación. (…) AGF Rebar Inc. posee un equipo de empleados competentes y experimentados, así que personal de instalación bien capacitado y certificado.” (Fuente: Informe de auditoría de CTS – septiembre de 2018).
