Our AGF teams in Longueuil worked on building the world's largest ozonation unit at the Jean-R.-Marcotte treatment plant.
Work on the project, which is still ongoing, is taking place at three locations in Montreal:
The project is divided into several phases. The first, which AGF worked on from January to April 2023, includes the entire siphon section, perhaps the most complex part of the project. Twelve of our team members (six on day shifts and six on nights) were assigned to do the work, which presented some major challenges.
Throughout the project, they had to work with 4-gas detectors to ensure the air they were breathing on site was healthy. They also had to protect themselves from noise and odours. Last but not least, the project involved working at heights where our workers were attached to 45-degree slopes.
Phase 2 of the work is scheduled to start in January 2024.

Nuestros equipos de AGF Longueuil trabajaron en la construcción de la unidad de ozonización más grande del mundo en la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales Jean-R.-Marcotte.

Se divide en varias fases. La primera, en la que AGF trabajó de enero a abril de 2023, se refiere a toda la parte del sifón, quizás la más compleja del proyecto. Doce miembros de nuestro equipo (seis en el turno de día y seis en el turno de noche) se movilizaron para realizar los trabajos que implicaban grandes desafíos.
En efecto, durante todo el proyecto, tuvieron que trabajar con detectores de cuatro gases para garantizar que el aire estuviera sano en la obra. También fue necesario protegerse del ruido y del olor. Por último, esta obra incluía trabajos en las alturas durante los cuales nuestros trabajadores estaban atados a pendientes de 45 grados.
Está previsto que la segunda fase de las obras comience en enero de 2024.
