Show & Shine

On July 21st, Winsafe Corp. held a Show & Shine car show to help raise money for charity. Though the weather could have been better, and may have contributed to the small number of classic and custom cars in the parking lot, some owners took a chance nevertheless, in the hope that the rain would hold off, and it did, fortunately. As the barbecue got going at lunchtime, the clouds dissipated and the sun came out.

The Show & Shine car show was devised and organized by Winsafe employees, during their monthly charity meetings. Those meetings produced great ideas, such as going to local businesses for donations of food for the barbecue, and talking to local radio stations to get free publicity leading up to the event.

Volunteers, friends and family related to the Winsafe Woodstock-based manufacturing facility donated their time on the Saturday the event took place to help at the car show and make sure it was a success. The turnout helped them reach their goal of $1,000 to be donated to the local food bank. With an additional contribution from the AGF Foundation, the team was able to give $1,500 to the Woodstock food bank. Given the success of the 2013 show, there is talk already about organizing a Show & Shine next year, planning to make it even better so it can become a yearly event!

All the volunteers deserve special thanks for putting in the time and effort required to make the show a success. As well, special thanks go to Mobile Wrap, Fastener Centre, Ray Thornton, Candice King, Appliance Quest & Custom Quality Manufacturing, sponsors of the event.
