The AGF Du-For Paint Room Is Given a New Look

After a fire that completely destroyed the building housing the previous painting room in 1988, the Montréal branch rebuilt a painting room in the following months.

Originally designed for dip paint application, the room was transformed in 2006 for the application of uncooked paint with an electrostatic spray gun. Following that change, the air suction and heating system became outdated and needed to be replaced. High costs and the difficult economic times that followed resulted in the project being put on the back burner for several years.

Stroke of luck in 2013, when the father of our Site Supervisor, Raphaël Morin, goes into retirement and closes his body shop business operating since 1973, offering us the opportunity to buy air suction and heating systems at about 10% of the cost of new systems, because the new owner of the building planned to use it for something completely different.

Installation works for the equipment were therefore completed last spring, thus delighting our painter Pietro Senerchia (Peter for his colleagues).

Thank you to everyone who played a role in this, especially the Morin family!
