On October 27th at approximately 12:30pm, AGF Ottawa suffered an electrical fire. No one was injured and the damages to our facility were limited.
Operations are made possible thanks to generators, but there’s still no power in the office.
However, over the last 6 weeks or so, we have made great progress on repairing and upgrading our electrical system.
I would like to nominate staff for their outstanding achievements in not only containing the fire, but for their quick thinking and reacting immediately to ensure that business operations would see minimal effect from the fire.
All staff deserve a huge Thumbs Up for their resilience, patience and understanding. Their Leadership Mindset, Team Spirit and Performance are fantastic! All is done for everyone to work safely.
Moises Montoya - Moises reacted quickly by putting out the electrical fire which minimized the building from suffering more damage as things would have been alot worse had he not reacted as he did.
Rick Gagnon - Rick immediately contacted the electrical company that we deal with. This enabled us to secure two Generators to power up our production department within hours of the electrical fire. Rick continues to be in close contact with the electrical company to have repairs made and continues to communicate with Ottawa Hydro.
Stoyan Ivanov - Stoyan has been the main go between with the IT department to ensure that the computer server equipment is shut down properly when the generators are being serviced. Stoyan has also been a great help to many staff ensuring that they have a power source from the generator to continue working at the office.
Office Production Staff - Led by Robert (Bob) Lecompte. In the early days following the electrical fire and without power, Bob and his office team, Amanda, Mario and Shane continued to service our clients and project sites professionally and efficiently, the old fashion way...with pen and paper!
Larry Taylor and Marc Fortin - A special mention to Larry and Marc for their tirelessness and dedication to ensuring that our operation is as functional as possible. Larry and Marc have both been very positive and supportive of everyone during this crisis. They are true leaders and AGF is lucky to have them as part of the team.
We are all looking forward to being reconnected to power and disconnected from generators and once again running at 100% capacity and of course welcoming all staff back to the office.
Again, I couldn't be more proud or feel more blessed than I do now to be part of such an amazing team.
"We will Overcome" We are AGF Strong.
“Venceremos.” Contamos con AGF.
