The month of November got off to a rousing start with the launch of the Centraide campaign. We appealed to the legendary generosity of AGF Steel Longueuil’s employees, who heeded the call and donated a total of $4,000. Congratulations!

The annual meeting between AGF Steel Longueuil’s management and its site and plant superintendents was held on November 17. Afterward, the office employees joined them for the traditional oyster feast. This year’s event again took place at La Magia restaurant in Longueuil. Olivier Cinéas (IT support technician), our resident DJ, provided the music for the after-dinner dancing.

Most employees at AGF Steel Longueuil have been working hard on the NA30 project for more than two years. On the morning of Saturday, November 19, they took a tour of the Highway 30 worksite.

Led by our tour guide Maxime Gendron, we visited the site on the Beauharnois canal, where we saw:

- the east abutment of the bridge in the launching area. The launching of the box girders that support the bridge deck is 1.5 km long, one of the longest in the world;
- Pier #29, one of the main piers, which is 45 metres high;
- the assembly area for the prefab joists and piers.
