On Tuesday February 13th, the Ottawa Construction Association held their Annual General Meeting at the Centurion Centre. The new 2018 chair elect was introduced along with the rest of the Board of Directors for the OCA.
We also had the privilege of listening to 2 guest speakers that are considered hockey royalty in the region and country. Those 2 gentlemen, NHL Hall of Famer Brian Kilrea and Hockey Historian Liam Maguire. Liam Maguire acted as the MC and they both proceeded to tell stories about Brian Kilrea’s remarkable career and life. Watch your toes as a few names were dropped! (Obviously so, he is a legend!) A real treat for the audience and extra special experience for any hockey fan.
AGF Ottawa also sponsored the event. We were able to set up a booth and a presentation to show what we are all about in Ottawa, and as the AGF Group altogether. (Thank you Geraldine for providing the presentation.)
AGF was also well represented with Shannon VanSlageren, Lawrence Jackson, Larry Taylor, Christian Witt and myself attending the event. We were able to meet with many of our great customers and talk to many others who are involved in the very busy Ottawa construction industry. Overall, it was a very fun evening with great food and better people!
El martes 13 de febrero, la Asociación de la Construcción de Ottawa (OCA, por sus siglas en inglés) organizó su reunión general anual en el Centro Centurion. Se presentó al nuevo presidente electo para el 2018, junto con el resto del consejo de administración de la OCA.
También tuvimos el privilegio de escuchar a dos conferencistas invitados considerados como la realeza del hockey de la región y del país: Brian Kilrea miembro del Salón de la fama de la NHL y el historiador de hockey Liam Maguire quien actuó como maestro de ceremonias. Ambos contaron historias sobre la extraordinaria carrera y vida de Brian Kilrea. Obviamente, como es una leyenda, ¡salieron a relucir varios nombres importantes! Fue un verdadero deleite para el público y una experiencia especial para cualquier aficionado del hockey.
AGF Ottawa también fue patrocinador del evento. Organizamos un quiosco y una presentación sobre AGF Ottawa y todo el Grupo AGF. (Gracias Géraldine por realizar la presentación.)

Pudimos reunirnos con varios de nuestros maravillosos clientes y hablar con muchas otras personas de la ocupada industria de la construcción en Ottawa.
