AGF is involved in several bridge construction projects. Here is an overview of our three divisions involved:
Our division is continuing work on the 1,100 MT (metric tonnes) project we started in 2019 to build two bridges over the Massawippi River,
The first bridge was completed in the fall; for the second bridge, the deck unit, consisting of 325 tonnes of galvanized steel, still needs to be installed. This phase will begin in March and should wrap up by mid-April at the latest, as per the schedule.
This project involved the AGF plant in Longueuil for fabrication of the steel piles as well as the post-tensioning team.
The Shediac Bridge: this is a big new contract for our division, a project for the New Brunswick Department of Transport and Infrastructure.
This 216-metre bridge is located on Highway 11, in the Shediac region (Westmorland County). The contract involves supplying and installing 350 tonnes of steel, including 90 tonnes of stainless steel.
The project will begin in February with prefabrication of columns and caissons (with an average length of 18 metres and 15 metres) at our Caraquet plant, and installation will get under way in May.
The project should be completed by the end of summer 2021.
Our office recently landed a contract for the construction of a bridge spanning about 1 kilometre along Highway 29.
This project for the BC Ministry of Transportation will call for 3,300 MT of steel, with 500 MT of stainless steel and 2,800 MT of black steel. As well, 120 steel piles will need to be pre-assembled, requiring 125 MT of spirale? coil.
The project will get under way in late February and is slated for completion in May 2022.

Este mes, les proponemos un panorama general de tres de nuestras sucursales:
El Puente Shediac: Un nuevo contrato importante para nuestra división, ya que se trata de un proyecto de la Secretaría de Transporte y de Infraestructura de Nuevo Brunswick.
El Puente Shediac, el cual tiene una longitud de 216 m, se encuentra en la autopista 11, en la región de Shediac (condado de Westmoreland). El contrato es para el abastecimiento y la instalación de 350 t de acero, incluyendo 90 t de acero inoxidable.
El inicio de la prefabricación de columnas y de caserones (de una longitud media de 18 m y de 15 m) se realizará en febrero en nuestra fábrica de Caraquet y la instalación iniciará durante el mes de mayo.
El proyecto deberá ser finalizada de aquí a finales del verano de 2021.
Nuestras oficinas obtuvieron recientemente un contrato para la construcción de un puente de aproximadamente 1 km de largo en la autopista 29.
Se trata de un proyecto del Ministerio de Colombia Británica que necesitará 3300 t de acero con 500 t de acero inoxidable y 2800 t de acero negro. Se utilizarán 120 pilotes-cajón para preensamblar, los cuales requerirán 125 t de espiral.
El proyecto iniciará hacia finales de febrero y se terminará en mayo de 2022.

Nuestra división continuará el proyecto de 1100 t, relativo a la construcción de dos puentes sobre el río Massawippi, iniciados en 2019.
El primer puente se terminó durante el otoño, ahora queda instalar la losa del tablero del segundo puente compuesto de 325 t de acero galvanizado. Esta fase iniciará en marzo y se terminará a más tardar a mediados de abril, conforme al calendario previsto.
Este proyecto incluye a la fábrica de AGF en Longueuil para la fabricación de pilotes-cajón y a los equipos de postensado.
