This month, we take a look at some of the projects under way in our Quebec City and Caraquet divisions.
- La Cité M: In late August, Acier AGF began work on the fourth phase of this residential project, having already contributed to the first three phases. For all four phases, our teams will supply and install nearly 3,900 MT of steel. The project is slated for completion by February-March 2021.
- Le Liénard: The 300-unit building will feature apartments ranging from lofts to three-bedroom units. This 1,400 MT project began in February and will be completed during December.
- Promenade Samuel de Champlain: Located on Champlain Boulevard, between the Pierre Laporte Bridge and Côte de Sillery, the promenade is an oasis in the heart of Quebec City. For this third phase, AGF’s teams are working on a 152-metre railway gantry crane and retaining walls.
Our AGF Olympic division is actively working on a new school in Moncton (270 MT). Three storeys high with an area of 20,450 m2, it will welcome students from kindergarten to grade 8, starting in the 2022 school year.
The crews also started installing steel of the Shediac Bridge. The 216 metre long bridge is located on Highway 11 in the Shediac area (Westmorland County). The contract covers the supply and installation of 350 MT of steel, including 90 MT of stainless steel.
Prefabrication of the columns and caissons (with an average length of 18 metres and 15 metres) began last February, and work is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2021.
At the same time, AGF Olympic is working on the construction of a technical building located on the Gagetown military base (one of the largest bases in Canada, with an area of 1,100 km2). This project represents about 470 MT of steel.
Este mes, presentamos un panorama general de algunas obras en curso en nuestras divisiones de Quebec y Caraquet.
- “La Cité M”: A finales de agosto, Acier AGF inició los trabajos relacionados con la cuarta fase de este proyecto residencial para el cual ya había contribuido durante las tres primeras fases. En total, para las cuatro fases nuestros equipos abastecerán e instalarán casi 3900 t de acero. Se estima que esta obra se terminará entre febrero y marzo de 2021.
- “Le Liénard”: Este inmueble de 300 alojamientos ofrecerá desde estudios hasta apartamentos de tres habitaciones. Este proyecto de 1400 t inició en febrero y terminará en el transcurso del mes de diciembre.
- Paseo Samuel de Champlain: Ubicado en el bulevar Champlain, entre el puente Pierre-Laporte y la costa de Sillery, el paseo es un verdadero oasis en el centro de la ciudad de Quebec. Para esta tercera fase, los equipos de AGF trabajan en un pórtico ferroviario de 152 m con muros de contención.
Nuestra división AGF Olympic trabaja activamente en la nueva Escuela de Moncton (270 t), la cual tendrá una superficie de 220 000 ft2 y tres pisos, y desde el 2022 recibirá alumnos desde preescolar hasta educación media superior.
Los equipos también iniciaron la instalación de acero del Puente Shediac. El puente posee una longitud de 216 m y se sitúa sobre la autopista 11, en la región de Shediac (Condado de Westmorland). El contrato es para el abastecimiento y la instalación de 350 t de acero, incluyendo 90 t de acero inoxidable.
