On Friday, August 26, the Calgary team took advantage of the bright sunny day to highlight two new commitments the Foundation is making in the region over a three-year period.
First, the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation will receive a total of $30,000 to help the families of children receiving treatment at the hospital. Several therapy programs to better manage stress and anxiety, using art, horticulture, music and interaction with animals, will benefit from our support.
The second commitment is to The Educational Partnership Foundation, which provides teens and young adults with opportunities for self-development so they can find a challenging career that is consistent with their values and aspirations. We will donate a total of $15,000 to develop the Foundation’s educational programs, which are provided to its young clients at no charge.
Representatives from both organizations were on hand to speak (with great feeling!) about their missions and to thank us warmly for our support. A food truck was on hand with treats for office, plant and worksite employees, as well as customers who accepted our invitation. All the employees of the Calgary office took part in organizing and hosting the event. A resounding thank you to everyone, and congratulations for this event, which brought us together and exemplifies our values of social involvement and team spirit.
Dos nuevos compromisos con la juventud
El pasado viernes 26 de agosto, el equipo de Calgary aprovechó el generoso sol para subrayar dos nuevos compromisos de tres años que la Fundación Grupo AGF adquirió en la región.
Por una parte, Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation recibirá un total de 30 000 CAD para ayudar a las familias de los niños que frecuentan el hospital. Nuestra colaboración apoyará varios programas de terapia para administrar mejor el estrés y la ansiedad por medio del arte, la horticultura, la interacción con los animales y la música.
El segundo compromiso es con la Educational Partnership Foundation, la cual les ofrece a los adolescentes y adultos jóvenes ocasiones para desarrollarse con el fin de encontrar una carrera estimulante, en cohesión con sus valores y aspiraciones. Proporcionaremos un total de 15 000 CAD con el fin de desarrollar estos programas educativos ofrecidos gratuitamente a la joven clientela.
Representantes de los dos organismos estuvieron presentes para conversar con nosotros (¡con una gran emoción!) sobre sus misiones, y para expresarnos su más sincero agradecimiento por nuestro apoyo. Un camión de comida estuvo presente para deleitar a los empleados de las oficinas, de la fábrica y de la obra, y a los clientes que aceptaron nuestra invitación. Todos los empleados de las oficinas de Calgary participaron en la organización y en la celebración del evento.
